Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Planning Board vice chairman Cherukuri Kutumba Rao said they were working to unearth two scams which would create tremors in the Central government. Kutumba Rao said they had already completed adequate home work and would make public the scams within two months.
Speaking to reporters at Chief Minister’s camp office here on Tuesday, Kutumba Rao dropped hints that the scams were related to a business group whose boss is said to have close association with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said the Central government had provided some benefits to the business group which was being opposed by at least six countries. “It will be a surprise. I cannot reveal more details at this stage,” he said.
Kutumba Rao dared BJP Rajya Sabha member G V L Narasimha Rao for an open debate on funds to Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC). “I am ready for an open debate on the issue of VCIC.
The Central government has given thousands of crore of rupees to Delhi-Mumbai Corridor and Dholera city. The BJP leaders are making false statements on VCIC to pin the blame on Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu,” he said.
He also said the BJP was trying to implicate Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Air Asia issue even though there was no single word about bribe during the conversation. “People want to know who tapped the phones of Air Asia officials and leaked phone records to public.
Is it allowed to tap phone calls of the citizens in the country,” he asked. He also said that Narendra Modi government was tapping phones of its supporters as well as Opposition and is running a totalitarian state.
Kutumba Rao further said it was the Narendra Modi Cabinet that approved the proposal of Air Asia. “I could say the Air Asia has been given permission by the Modi Cabinet as the entire Cabinet has been given bribes,” he said.
He said even as the state government finished share holders agreement and state support agreement (SSA) on national industrial corridor in December 2017, the Central government had not taken it forward so far and the same was the case with Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor. “The Centre did not give a single paise for VCIC,” he asserted.
He also said that the Centre was reluctant to include Amaravati-Anantapur expressway in Bharatmala project and wanted the state government to reduce it to four-lane from the six-lane highway. He said the state government would not cowed down by the threats of CBI inquiries on any developmental project in the state, by the BJP government.
