Ongole: YSR RTC Mazdoor Union state president A Raja Reddy announced that the APSRTC would be transformed into a government department after YSR Congress Party President YS Jaganmohan Reddy becomes the Chief Minister.

Speaking to the media at YSRCP office here on Wednesday, Raja Reddy alleged that the TDP government looted Rs 2,700 crore from APSRTC till date. He said that the TDP government is paying only 15 per cent of the taxes and other expenditure while the Rajasekhara Reddy government had used to reimburse 100 per cent of the expenditure and 50 per cent of the taxes incurred by the corporation.

He said that the NMU or EU or any other unions are not in a state of protecting the rights of workers. He said that those unions are unable to speak against the irregular timings, increments. He exuded confidence that the YSR RTCMU will win the next elections to achieve the recognised union status.

He said that Jaganmohan Reddy had assured that the RTC employees in 2015 that they would make the RTC as the government department after they form the government. Raja Reddy reiterated that Jagan will stand by his word.

The YSR RTCMU formed a regional committee with Radhakrishna as the president while Balineni Srinivasa Reddy is chosen as the honorary president. The members elected A Balasubrahmanyam as general secretary, Vasu, Sanjeeva Rao and Ramalinga Reddy were elected as secretaries.
