Yerragondapalem: The Raituseva Sangham in Prakasam district supported the nationwide agitation by the thousands of farmers from various districts by joining the protests in their way.

The farmers thrown tomatoes and milk, for which least price was offered, onto the highway at Yerragondapalem and staged a protest on the road blocking the traffic for a while on Wednesday.

Puchakayala Subbarao, state president of the Raituseva Sangham demanded that the Centre offer agriculture loan waivers to the farmers throughout the country on same guidelines.

The Central government should provide minimum support price and implement Fasal Bima Yojana to all crops in all states.

He asked the government to implement the recommendations of Swaminathan Commission and dismiss Agriculture Minister Radhamohan Singh for talking ‘nonsense’ against farmers.

He also demanded the government to offer ex-gratia to the kin of six farmers who died in the firing in Madhya Pradesh last year.
