Job dole from July

Srikakulam: The state government will pay unemployment allowance from July this year, announced Minister for Transport K Atchannaidu. He inaugurated tourism facility centre and weavers’ common facility centre at Salihundam in Gara mandal on Tuesday.

Later, the minister inaugurated rural health training hostel at Srikurmam in the same mandal. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Rs 1,000 per month for each unemployed youth will be paid as allowance from next month. Total 10 lakh unemployed youth will be get benefitted under the scheme, the minister elaborated.

Salihundam is famous for Buddha stupas which is located on the banks of Vamsadhara river. The minister said that all Buddhist centres in the district would be developed as tourism spots soon. Tourism common facility centre at Salihundam was constructed at a cost of Rs 2.27 crore where total information and guest rooms would be available to serve tourists better.

The minister said that Weavers’ Board would be appointed in the state for the welfare of weavers’ families and government decided to pay pension for weavers who attained the age of 50 years. Under the pension scheme, 2.50 crore weavers would be benefitted across the state, the minister explained.

In the evening, the minister inaugurated rural health training and facility centre at Srikurmam which was built at an estimated cost of Rs 2.06 crore. On the occasion, the minister said that government is according priority to women and child welfare. Srikukulam MLA G Laxmidevi and Collector K Dhanunjaya Reddy accompanied the minister.
