Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Police Officers Association (APPOA) on Wednesday condemned the remarks made by YSRCP Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy against ACB DGP RP Thakur recently.

APPOA honorary president M Gangadhar and general secretary D Subramanyam and other leaders in a statement condemned the statement of the MLA. Ramakrishna Reddy on Monday vented his ire at the ACB DGP when he was questioned by the ACB officials at the ACB head office in connection with the disproportionate assets case being faced by DSP Durga Prasad.

The ACB had grilled Ramakrishna Reddy as he had purchased land from the tainted DSP Durga Prasad in 2006-2007. In connection with the case, the ACB had questioned the MLA. Reacting to the incident, the MLA expressed his resentment on the ACB DGP.

After two days of the incident, the APPOA reacted on Wednesday and demanded that the MLA withdraw his comment on DGP Thakur. They also said Thakur is an efficient officer and has been trying to check corruption in the state. They said it is shameful that MLA has targeted the committed officer.
