Tirupati: TDP leader and former Minister Galla Aruna Kumari has condemned the rumours of joining YSRCP in a meeting with her followers at a private function hall held in Chandragiri on Wednesday. Despite followers asking her to continue as party in-charge for Chandragiri Assembly constituency, she refused to heed their request.

According to sources, Aruna Kumari met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu 25 days ago prior to leaving for the US on a personal work and informed him that she was not interested to continue as party in-charge for Chandragiri segment for which he agreed and appointed TDP district president P Nani as in-charge. But, he did not take charge till now for unknown reasons.

Aruna Kumari had quit constituency in-charge post as she was hurt with local officials not following her instructions in allotment of development works and not considering her recommendations in police transfers. In 2014 elections, Aruna had contested for Chandragiri constituency and lost to YSRCP candidate Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy. From then on, she was continuing as party in-charge for Chandragiri.

Her followers say Aruna had expected nominated post or MLC. But, the high command did not consider her for either of the posts. Now, the TDP is facing leadership crisis in the Chandragiri segment.

Addressing the followers, Aruna made it clear that she and her son Galla Jayadev will be loyal to the TDP. She assured the party leadership of extending support to Nani, who was appointed as Chandragiri in-charge. Large number of followers from Ramachandrapuram, Yerravaripalem, Chandragiri, Chinnagottigallu mandals and Tirupati Rural have attended the meeting.
