Greater Visakha Municipal Corporation (GVMC) constructing 11 vending zones on an emergency basis in the city at some places in which the hawkers, who are leading their livelihood by placing their carts on the roadside and highways causing traffic congestion and road accidents.
Visakhapatnam: Greater Visakha Municipal Corporation (GVMC) constructing 11 vending zones on an emergency basis in the city at some places in which the hawkers, who are leading their livelihood by placing their carts on the roadside and highways causing traffic congestion and road accidents.
The GVMC authorities identified 11 prime areas in the city and allocated place for vending zones for the feasibility of the hawkers and the works are being carried out on an emergency basis. In avoiding traffic problems and accidents, the GVMC has planned to construct and develop one or two vending zones as per zone wise in the city.
The GVMC proposed vending zones at Chinnagadili, VUDA Colony area near Madhurawada, Chandrampalem under Zone-I; under Zone-II, the vending zones are located at Seetamadhara adjacent to SFS School margin; under Zone III at Prasad Gardens; under Zone IV, Madhavdhara; under Zone V in the vacant land between Gajuwaka zonal office and tahsildhar office in 61st division and other vending zone at backside of Sudha Hotel in 63rd division and another one at the margin of VUDA 130 feet road in 52nd division; under VI zone, the vending zones at Veterinary Hospital, Baji Junction and at Nehru Chowk Junction in Anakapalle.
