Rajamahendravaram: Indian Lawyers Association (ILA) state president Muppalla Subba Rao has demanded that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu fulfill the assurances given to the advocates during 2014 Assembly elections.

Issuance of health cards, enhancement of death benefit to Rs 10 lakh, monthly stipend of Rs 5,000 to junior doctors, allottment of Rs 150 crore for advocates welfare fund, cancellation of issuing of bail powers to police department as advised by Law Commission and also permission of respective bar associations to register any criminal case against any lawyer etc were among other promises made to the lawyers.

He said about 28,000 advocates in the state would fight against the government until it fulfills the promises.

The advocates believed Naidu and extended their support in 2014 elections, but in vain, he lamented.
