YSRCP, Congress release charge sheets against TDP 4-yr rule
The four-year Chandrababu Naidu rule is laden with blatant lies, rampant corruption, immense inefficiency and gross neglect of the people due to the lack of governance, YSR Congress Party said in a charge sheet released on Friday.
Amaravati: The four-year Chandrababu Naidu rule is laden with blatant lies, rampant corruption, immense inefficiency and gross neglect of the people due to the lack of governance, YSR Congress Party said in a charge sheet released on Friday.
The main opposition YSRCP and Congress released ‘charge sheets' against the TDP government on the occasion of the government completing four years. They alleged that not a single promise made before of the 2014 polls was fulfilled by the Chandrababu Naidu government.
They said while the state’s debt, before bifurcation in 2014 stood at Rs 1 lakh crore, the TDP government borrowed over Rs 1.49 lakh crore in just four years, taking the total debt to Rs 2.50 lakh crore.
Leader of Opposition in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council Ummareddy Venkateswarlu along with G Srikanth Reddy released a 31-page ‘charge sheet’ on behalf of YSRCP, while former Union minister M M Pallam Raju released the Congress ‘charge sheet.’ The two parties alleged that the Naidu government had completely failed in implementing many promises including loan waiver to farmers and Dwacra women.
Ummareddy Venkateswarlu alleged that sand mafia, land mafia and liquor mafia have been ruling the roost in the state. Even the National Crime Records Bureau data exposes the worst law and order scenario in AP, he added That the promises made in the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014 have not been fulfilled speaks of biggest failure of the Chandrababu government, he said and accused the Chief Minister of mortgaging the Special Category Status for a special economic package and pushing the state 15 years back.
Not one permanent structure has been built in the last four years in the state’s new capital city Amaravati despite the Centre releasing Rs 1,500 crore, he said. “That's the biggest failure of this government,” the former union minister added. Former Union minister Pallam Raju alleged the TDP government betrayed the people of Andhra Pradesh on the Special Category Status and failed to fulfil the pre-poll promises in its four-year rule.
He said government betrayed the youth by failing to create job opportunities. “There are 30 lakh unemployed youth in the state but the government cut down the number to just 10 lakh. It promised to pay unemployment allowance but four years since it assumed power, the TDP did nothing,” he said.
He released the charge sheet along with other party leaders at a protest programme of the party at Lenin Centre in Vijayawada. The party organised protest as part of the seven-day betrayal week being observed by it to mark the completion of four-year of TDP rule in the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Pallam Raju said Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu took a U-turn on the SCS causing huge loss to the state. He alleged that Naidu cheated the farmers on loan waiver and betrayed the youth on sanction of unemployment allowance. He said liquor sales had increased in TDP rule and injustice was meted out to weaker sections and Dalits in the four-year rule.
He alleged Andhra Pradesh topped in corruption and recalled CAG had found fault with the TDP. Pallam Raju further alleged Janma Bhoomi committees were looting the state and DWCRA women were cheated by the CM on loan waiver.
He said the state had debt of Rs 1 lakh crore in 2014 and it may reach to 2.49 lakh crore by the end of TDP rule in 2019. Congress leader Kolanukonda Sivaji, Dr Gangadhar and others participated in the protest which will continue one week.
