Meet Vijayawada-based Mavuri Siva Krishna Manohar, who bagged All India 5th rank in JEE (Advanced) results that were released on Sunday. He is from a modest family background. His father M Nageswara Rao works as a tailor and mother Padmavathi is a homemaker. His story is similar to Mohan Abhyas from Kukatpally Housing Board, Hyderabad. Mohan secured All India Sixth rank and South India first rank in JEE Mains.
Mohan’s father V.Subba Rao sells samosas for a living. He and his wife make samosas at home. Subba Rao prepares a bag full of samosas, which he keeps it to his cycle and then goes about selling them to shops in Kukatpally. Whenever he got time, Mohan helped his parents in making of samosas.
Siva Krishna's story is similar to Mohan Abhyas in the sense both overcame financial difficulties to get into top-10 in the prestigious national entrance tests. While Siva Krishna made his mark in JEE (Advanced), Mohan excelled in JEE Mains.
Manohar hailing from Rajendrapalem village in Kovvuru mandal of Vishakhapatnam district prepared for JEE in Vijayawada, He wishes to take up B.Tech (CSE) at IIT, Bombay.
Manohar completed his schooling in his native place from 1st to 5th, and then he continued his high school education in Navodaya School, Vizag. Later, he completed his Intermediate from Vijayawada FIIT JEE free of cost.
Sharing his experiences, the topper said that he expected a good rank from the beginning. He thanked his parents, faculty and the management of his college for encouraging him in bagging the AIR 5. Manohar said he bagged AIR 59 in JEE Mains.
FIIT JEE college director, P Ramesh, and staff felicitated Manohar for his big achievement. Ramesh said that Manohar was hard-working and he was confident of getting the top rank.
