8,500 kg ganja seized, three held in Nellore
Chillakur police held three persons who were trading ganja in the city and seized an auto-rickshaw and 8,500 kgs of ganja from them. The accused were identified as Velu Pandyan, N Nazeer Basha and N Madarbi.Â

Gudur DSP VS Rambabu disclosed the case details at Chillakur Police Station in the district on Monday and said that Vela Pandyan has been importing ganja from Visakhapatnam through a mediator, Niroshamma. Pandyan sells it to Noor Basha and Noor Madarbi for resale in the district. Police had received information about ganja trading in Gudur sub-division area, said the DSP.
Chillakur Police nabbed the accused on Gudur-Kota road on Sunday evening. He also informed that a manhunt has been launched to apprehend other two accused who are at large.
