Rajamahendravaram: Leaders of Andhra Pradesh United Front (APUF) criticised the TDP government for its failure to fulfil the promises made during 2014 elections. They also flayed the Opposition YSRCP for failing to exert pressure on the State government.

These two parties were trying to cheat the people again by luring them with false promises, they said. Under the prevailing circumstances, an alternative political force was essential and the APUF was formed to face the principal political parties in the State, they said.

The APUF will contest in all 175 Assembly constituencies and 25 Parliament constituencies in the ensuing elections. Parties in APUF go ahead on a united agenda though they contest on their own in the elections.

After getting unanimous opinion from the leaders who attended the meeting here on Monday, Rastriya Praja Congress (RPC) founder president Meda Srinivas announced that the APUF was formed and a meeting will be convened shortly. Andhra Rastra Praja Samithi president Pellapudi Surendra Reddy of Nellore was elected as president of APUF and Samanya Praja Party president K Adibabu of Visakhapatnam as convenor.

Dabir Abdula Razak (Godavari Muslim Welfare Association), Tenali Ravibabu (Janam Party) from Prakasam district, Dr K Subba Rao (Pedarikam Nirmulana Party), K V Narasimham (Telugu Bahujana Party) from Nellore and Buriga Esudas (Ambedkar Party of India) were among those who attended the meeting.
