RTC pays 20 per cent revised pay arrears to staff

The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) on Monday credited the 20 per cent of the revised pay scale arrears to 51,000 employees to their bank accounts. According to a release by corporation’s managing director and vice-chairman N V Surendra Babu the total of the first instalment was Rs 120 crore.
Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) on Monday credited the 20 per cent of the revised pay scale arrears to 51,000 employees to their bank accounts. According to a release by corporation’s managing director and vice-chairman N V Surendra Babu the total of the first instalment was Rs 120 crore.
The remaining arrears would be credited to the staff every year in the next four years up to 2022. The revised pay arrears are for the period from April 2013 to August 2015.
The RTC employees have been asking the management to pay the arrears for the last few years. Finally, the corporation responded positively and paid the first instalment on Monday. The staff expressed happiness over the payment.
