Guntur Municipal Corporation to Campaign on segregated Garbage Collection
Municipal Corporation Commissioner Srikesh B Lathkar stressed on collection of segregated garbage at houses to keep the city clean.
Guntur: Municipal Corporation Commissioner Srikesh B Lathkar stressed on collection of segregated garbage at houses to keep the city clean. He addressed a meeting held in the GMC Council in Guntur city on Wednesday.
Speaking on this occasion, he said that ITC would take part in door-to-door garbage collection in the 23rd and 24th divisions of the city on a pilot basis. He felt that there was need to organise these types of meetings among the people to create awareness.
He said that the GMC had already created awareness and has been collecting dry and wet garbage separately from the residents. He directed the officials collect garbage in the same way in other divisions as ITC would do in the other divisions.
He said that some sanitary workers would collect garbage from 350 houses, some others would collect from 200 houses.
GMC Additional Commissioner K Ramachandra Reddy, Deputy Commissioner D Srinivasa Rao were among those present.
