Kia vehicle to roll out by Jan 1
The Kia Motors India told Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu that the first car made in India by it in Anantapur district will roll out by January 1, 2019. A delegation of Kia Motors India, which met him at the Secretariat here on Tuesday, also presented a brief progress report of the various modules of the project in Anantapur.

According to the report, 65.3 per cent of the assembly shop, 63.1 per cent of the paint shop, 65.1 per cent of the body shop and 64.1 per cent of the press have been completed. Other parts of the project, including the engine shop, the head office, manual transmission, seats, coil centre, test track and the township with residential buildings are yet to be completed.
The Chief Minister directed the officials from the industries department to ensure that there is real-time updation of the physical progress of the project. He also spoke to the collectorate officials of Anantapur through video conference and suggested to them to resolve land acquisition issues. He also congratulated all officials for making sure that the project is ahead of schedule.
Kia Motors India and AP State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) will start a Basic Training Course in the automobile sector on June 20. This course will admit students only from the Anantapur district to enhance their skills.The state government has decided to extend full support for revival of Ongole Dairy in Prakasam district, which is in doldrums.

During a meeting with the board members of the Dairy at the Secretariat, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu assured that the government would revive it. Minister for forest and environment Sidda Raghava Rao also took part in the meeting. Raghava Rao said they a meeting of board directors would be held on Thursday in which urban development minister P Narayana, district collector and he as the district minister would participate to decide further course of action.
He further explained that for the rescue of the dairy, the government would give Rs 35 crore as loan to the dairy. The loan amount will be used for clearing the dues of farmers, employees, workers, transportation and banks, he explained. On the other hand, the government is also is trying to take it under its temporary management. But it can proceed only if current board members resigned from their posts. This issue also would be discussed in the meeting, sources added.
