Tirupati: Pathologists play a crucial role in reducing patients mortality rate by providing accurate lab reports and maintain quality management system, said SVIMS Director cum Vice Chancellor Dr TS Ravikumar. Inaugurating the programme of Balaji Gold medal chair oration on “Accreditation in Histopathology – A journey to self-audit and quality” in Tirupati on Monday, he said that based on the reports given by pathologists, patients get quality treatment.

Consultant Histopathologist and Cytologist at PD Hinduja Hospital & Medical Research Centre, Mumbai Dr Anitha S Bathuri participated as Chief guest and 2nd Balaji gold medal chair orator. She explained modern developments in the field of Pathology, quality management system and reports documentation policies. Director Dr Ravikumar felicitated Dr Bathuri and presented the gold medal and citation. Head of the Department of Pathology Dr Aruna K Prayaga, Dr Sreenivasa Rao, Dr Sivakumar, Dr Radhika, Dr Rukmangada and others participated.
