Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu requested NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman Rajiv Kumar to postpone the scheduled Governing Council meeting in a letter on Wednesday. The NITI Aayog is scheduled to organise the meeting on the morning of June 17.

Chandrababu Naidu suggested to Rajiv Kumar to schedule the meeting for the evening on June 17 or morning on June 18. Chandrababu Naidu explained that Ramzan is an important festival for Muslims and people in large numbers would visit him hence he has to stay in Amaravati on the occasion.

Naidu also held a review meeting with officials on the agenda items and details on fund appropriation to be put forth during the NITI Aayog meeting in Delhi. He asked the officials to prepare detailed reports on issues such as bifurcation and implications, Centrally-funded schemes and benefit to the State and details on districts receiving special assistances through government schemes.

Chandrababu Naidu discussed on methods to increase agricultural income, marketing strategies for agricultural produce and asked the officials to prepare a report on the funds that the State is yet to receive related to agricultural sector.

The Chief Minister asked for details on implementation and beneficiaries under Centrally funded health schemes like Aayushman Bharat, Pradhanmantri Rashtriya Swasthya Suraksha Mission, Poshan Mission and Indradhanush.

Chandrababu Naidu also asked officials to come up with a schedule and programmes on activities to be carried out on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Energy Minister K Kala Venkat Rao, Transport Minister K Atchannaidu, Special Chief Secretary Satish Chandra, Additional Secretary to Chief Minister, V Rajamouli, Secretary to Chief Minister Girija Shankar and Special Chief Secretary (CCLA) Anil Chandra Punetha attended the meeting.
