Visakhapatnam: The denizens and residents on the coastal bay witnessed the high tides caused with the onset of monsoon and the effect created by the new moon. The blue sea was turned into a menacing dangerous sea and the waves splashed over the shores with great force at some places in the district. They came forward to an extent of more than 50 to 100 meters here on Wednesday.

Several fishermen, who were residing near the sea at 11 coastal mandals in the district faced some anxious moments after their boats which were anchored at the bay were dragged into the sea by the forceful high tidal waves in the sea.

According to weathermen, due to monsoon, the impact was high at the Bay of Bengal with strong surface winds from westerly direction reaching with a speed of 45 to 50 kmph and gusting to 55 kmph likely along and off to the coastal Andhra Pradesh for another two days.

According to the INCOIS bulletin, the height of the waves will be in the range of 3.5 to 4.1 metres likely along and off the coastal Andhra Pradesh. The conditions near the sea will be dangerous. Fishermen were cautioned not to venture into the sea along and off the coastal Andhra Pradesh.
