Tirupati: The Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) and Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) are jointly planning to construct an elevated corridor in temple city for the convenience of the pilgrims and locals. Speaking to the media at TUDA office here on Thursday, MCT Commissioner V Vijaya Rama Raju said the flyover is being constructed for hassle free flow of traffic from Lakshmipuram Circle to Nandi Circle.

Explaining the details of the project, the civic chief stated the mega flyover would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 350 crore for 4 km distance. The flyover would begin at Lakshmipuram Circle and conclude at Nandi Circle. “Entry and exit passages for vehicles would be provided at Lakshmipuram Circle, Ramanuja Circle, RTC bus stand and Leelamahal Junction,” he informed.

Corporation Commissioner has invited suggestions from the residents on construction of elevated corridor in Tirupati. He mentioned that the TTD authorities gave green signal for the construction of the mega flyover.

The TTD and MCT are planning to complete the construction of flyover in the next 24 months. Challenge before the MCT is to acquire private lands for the construction of flyover. After holding two or three meetings with higher officials, the civic body would call tenders for taking up flyover construction.
