Rajamahendravaram: Income Tax department Principal Chief Commissioner Shyam Prasad Choudary, has appealed to the tax payers to pay their taxes as per schedule which strengthens the economic base of the country.

The department respects the tax payers who pay on time and also take action against tax evaders.

Inaugurating Aayakar Seva Kendra (ASK) on the premises of Income Tax Chief Commissioner’s Office here on Friday, he said the government brought many changes in the department for the benefit of tax payers and asked them to avail them judiciously.

He informed that Rajamahendravaram circle collected an amount of Rs 532 crore as against of its target of Rs 486 crore for the year 2017-2018.

As many as 56,177 new assesses were added, he said.

The tax payers can avail the services in ASK, such as single window access with unique track number, status of various correspondence made by the tax payer, status of outstanding demand tax payers, tracking of refund status, assistance for filing e-challans and income tax returns etc.

The department is very much cooperative towards tax payers.

The tax payers can get any information from the officials, he said. Chief Commissioner of Visakhapatnam CR Pati, Chief Commissioner of Rajamahendravaram BG Reddy, officials Rajaneesh Aravind, V Appala Raju, PS Murthi and others were present.
