Mines Assistant Geologist transfer stopped
Mines and geology department assistant geologist Dr R Pratap Reddy’s transfer was stopped by Minister for Mines and Geology Sujaya Krishna Ranaga Rao.

After joining the district in November 2017, the assistant geologist imposed Rs 20 crore penalty on quarry units. His action against Ponduru ZPTC member and ruling TDP leader Lolugu Sriramulu Naidu’s Naga Gayatri Stone Crushers turned into a controversy.
As the ZPTC is a confidant of Amudalavalasa MLA and Government Whip Kuna Ravi Kumar. Later, he was transferred on May 31. On learning about it, a higher official from the district convinced the Minister for Mines Geology saying that the assistant geologist was collecting revenue to the government.
Finally, the transfer was stopped. It is learnt that the assistant geologist urged the minister to provide security to discharge his duties freely and fairly. Furthermore, the assistant geologist said that he will join duty t Srikakulam on June 18.
