Amaravati: Minister for Civil Supplies Prathipati Pulla Rao said that the ration card holders would be given palm oil and salt soon. The Minister said that each card holder would be given 2 kg of red gram from July.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, the Minister said the Civil Supplies department has been striving to increase the satisfaction level of ration card holders and the same was communicated to the ration dealers.

“The present satisfaction level on ration shops is 65 per cent and it can be enhanced to 95 per cent. The dealers were told that their performance and behavior with card holders must be improved. It is the main reason for the low satisfaction level on ration shops,” he said.

He said the department received 12 lakh applications for new ration cards and around 3 lakh applications were identified as eligible. “Officials could not find out the address of 4.02 lakh people who applied for ration cards. The applicants should register their details through Praja Sadhikara Survey to get new ration cards,” he said.
