Prof attacked over sexual harassment

Nellore: An Associate Professor was attacked by a relative of the final year student of ACSR Medical College for allegedly sexually harassing her. According to sources, Deepthi, final year student of the ACSR Government Medical College, has allegedly been facing sexual harassment by an Associate Professor Chandrasekhar. She informed the difficulty to her parents and relatives.

When Professors and Associate Professors were in a meeting with Medical Superintendent of Nellore Government General Hospital on Thursday, relatives of the student entered into the hall and argued with the professor. Pragna, who was friend of the final year student, had attacked the Associate Professor. The medical college staff members informed to Vedayapalem cops and they shifted Pragna to the police station.

“When we are in a meeting with associate professors and other staff for discussing on youth festival suddenly relatives of the final year student entered into the hall and argued with Prof Chandrasekhar. One of the youngster attacked the Chandrasekhkar,” said Nellore GGH Superintendent Radha Krishna. Tension prevailed for some time at the meeting hall.

“When I had attended for surgery postings at demo room, Associate Professor Chandrasekhar misbehaved with me. He tried to sexually assault me. He did the same attempts and many students of the college experienced them. But, they are not coming forward to complaint against the Professor,” said the final year student.
