In Srikalahasti, as many as thirty students of Government Degree College for Women donated blood to mark ‘World Blood Donor Day’. A meeting was also held to create awareness among youth more so women to promote voluntary blood donation to save scores of lives.
Tirupati: ‘World Blood Donor Day’ was observed in various places across the district on Wednesday. Notably, this year women also came forward in good number to donate blood voluntarily in the camps conducted to mark the occasion.
In Srikalahasti, as many as thirty students of Government Degree College for Women donated blood to mark ‘World Blood Donor Day’. A meeting was also held to create awareness among youth more so women to promote voluntary blood donation to save scores of lives.
In Tirupati, the women staff of Bank of Baroda, VV Mahal Road Branch joined in the voluntary blood donation programme held in the bank premises. Bank branch manager Suresh Kumar along with staff including Arpitha, Srividya, Manjula, Rajani, Prabhavathi, Bhavya, Narasimha Rao and others participated in the blood donation.
Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) also organised a blood donation camp and also to mark the 90th birth anniversary of legendary revolutionary Che Guevara. DYFI district secretary S Jayachandra led the blood donation. Celebrating World Blood Donation Day, SV Medical College along with SVRR Government Hospital and Nursing College held an impressive awareness rally.
