District Collector S Satyanarayana and District Superintendent of Police (SP) Gopinath Jetty also participated in the review meeting. Stating the purpose of his visit, Ramulu said he came to Kurnool to resolve the problems being faced by the people of SC and ST communities. Regarding the forcible grabbing of Dalit lands given by the state government, Ramulu directed the officials concerned to render justice to Dalits.

“Compensation to the rape victims have to be extended immediately after filing the FIR,” he stated. Responding to a question asked by the SC panel member, Somasekhar Reddy, General Manager of the District Industries Centre, said that they have received 366 applications from SCs and STs. In which, 255 eligible claims have been cleared with Rs 13 lakh incentives, he mentioned. Ramulu advised the Collector to allocate some shops to Dalits in the temples as the district is having several temples.

He further said he had received some complaints of upper caste community people are banishing the Dalits from the villages. He instructed the cops to file cases against those responsible for showing discrimination towards Dalits. DRO Sasi Devi, ASP Shaik Shavali, Special Collector Subba Reddy, Deputy Director of Social Welfare Prasad Rao and other district officials were present.
