Not bothering the scorching heat, youth rushed to Kala Hospital located at Dwarakanagar and donated blood.

As a part of its social responsibility activities, The Hans India has taken up the initiative to save the people during emergencies. The camp was inaugurated by Managing Director of Kala Hospitals Dr PV Ramana Murthy in the presence of Secretary of Indian Red Cross Society, Visakhapatnam Chapter, KVRK Raju and Media Officer of Indian Red Cross Society SKL Rao.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ramana Murthy said that due to lack of blood reserves, a large number of patients have been suffering not only in the country but also in the state. The lifespan of the blood cells is 120 days only and later the cells would be expired and new cells would be generated. The people in society are not coming forward to donate blood.

The NGOs and other organisation would take several service activities, including donation of money, clothes and food, but blood donation is different. In this backdrop, The Hans India took the initiative to serve the needy. Kala Hospital would support any sort of public service, Dr Ramana Murty assured.

Explaining about their services, Secretary of IRCS KVRK Raju said that society is taking up several activities irrespective of caste, creed and religion. He recalled the association with Kala Hospitals for the past two decades.

A large number of people from The Hans India, IRCS, Kala Hospitals were present at the inaugural programme. The camp was concluded at 6 pm. As many as 55 youths donated blood during the day-long programme.

The camp was conducted under the supervision of Deputy General Manager of The Hans India KVM Prasada Rao and Manager Circulation BVR Sastry. Former DMHO Dr GV Subba Rao was present.
