Visakhapatnam: CPI national secretary K Narayana along with party cadre once again demolished the compound wall of around 10.18 acres land and set fire to a thatched house in survey number 28/2 at Kommadi near Madhurawada on Sunday.

Narayana alleged that one K Srinivasa Reddy,a land mafia leader, occupied the government land claiming that he purchased itfrom a freedom fighter and constructed a concrete boundary wall and erected a thatched house in the land.

In fact, in June 2017, Narayana while destroying the wall along with his party cadre, was injured and hospitalised. Even after one year also,Narayana alleged the government has not taken any action to protect such a huge extent of government land.

On Sunday, Narayana along with another senior leader JVSatyanarayana Murthy visited the land and demolished the boundary wall. The leaders also set fire to the thatched house in the land.

Speaking on the occasion, Narayana said though the CPI lodged a complaint with Special Investigation Team (SIT), which probed the land irregularities in the district, the government failed to take any action.

Even after the SIT had submitted its report six months ago, the government did not placeit before the public as large number of TDP leaders and other influential leaders involved in land mafia cases, Narayana alleged and demanded to upload the SIT report in the public domain to identify the mafia leaders.

“Huge extent of government lands being occupied by the TDP and land mafia leaders. As TDP leaders involved in land grabbing cases, the government did not make SIT report public. The CPI never leave the issue. If the government fails to distribute the land to poor for housing, the CPI will divide the land into plots and distribute it to the poor,” Narayana warned the government.

After demolishing the boundary wall and thatched house, the leaders hoisted party flags in the land. Surprisingly, when the CPI activists demolishing the wall and set fire to thatched house, no one came to the site and even police also not filed any case. CPI leaders AJStalin, BVenkataramana and MPydirajuwere present.
