Vijayawada: CPI national secretary D Raja on Tuesday made it clear that simultaneous elections to Lok Sabha and all the Assemblies will not be possible due to huge diversity in the country.

Addressing the media at the state party office here with the CPI state secretary K Ramakrishna, Raja said all political parties in the country should reach consensus on conducting simultaneous polls.

Referring to the Constitution, Raja said the BJP has been vigorously trying to amend the Constitution for its own benefit. He condemned the proposals of the BJP government to fill important posts like secretaries and joint secretaries in the government service with the people of corporate sector and professionals from multi-national companies. He alleged that the Central government had been trying to change the entire UPSC recruitment process in the country.

He expressed concern over the rise of attacks on minorities and Dalits in the country and referred Gujarat state as example for it. The CPI leader said Indian fascism will be very dangerous to the country and recalled the devastation caused by fascism in European many decades ago.
