Heat wave conditions prevailed at one or two pockets in Visakapatnam, East Godavari, Krishna and Guntur districts of north coastal Andhra Pradesh on Monday.  The Southwest Monsoon was weak across the State.

Hyderabad: Heat wave conditions prevailed at one or two pockets in Visakapatnam, East Godavari, Krishna and Guntur districts of north coastal Andhra Pradesh on Monday. The Southwest Monsoon was weak across the State.

Rain occurred at isolated places in the State, while the day temperatures were markedly above normal in some parts of coastal Andhra. The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) were Cheepurupalle (Vizianagaram district) 3 and Garividi (Vizianagaram) 2.

There was light to moderate rain or thundershowers at isolated places in coastal Andhra, along with maximum temperatures ranging from around 40-42 degrees Celsius.

They were 3 to 4 degrees Celsius above normal. In a warning to Andhra Pradesh, the bulletin said heat wave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated places in all coastal districts on June 19.
