Non Muster Rolls seek service regularisation
Employees under Non-Muster Roll (NMR) working in various organisations across the state staged a protest demonstration demanding the government to regularise their service as per the orders of the High Court and the Supreme Court and as per the recommendations of 10th PRC (pay revision commission).Â

The NMRs who had completed 5 to 10 years of service protested in support to the call given by the state committee of their union on Monday. About 10,000 NMRs were appointed prior to November 1993 and are still serving the government with a meagre wage without job security. Retirement benefits were not paid to those who had retired from their jobs during these years.
AP JAC Amaravati chairman, Bopparaju Venkateswarlu, participating in the protest, said that some officers failed to project the problems of NMRs to the government in a right way. By putting pressure on the Government the issue could be solved with unity, he said.
M Rama Rao, of the Higher Education Department, said that the issue was brought to the notice of the government several times but they could not get a solution. He demanded the government to implement the High Court and the Supreme Court orders and do justice.
He demanded regularisation of the service of the workers, employees as per the recommendations of 10th PRC. NMRs Union president B Suresh demanded, “A senior IAS officer should be appointed with a delegation of the powers to finalise the data of total employees and workers working in all departments and to send necessary combined proposals to the Government for regularisation of their services.
Union General Secretary K Srinivas demanded the Government that the employees, who are drawing time-scale as per earlier PRCs and not allowed for the 10th Pay Revision Scales, should immediately be given the revised scales and the arrears should be sanctioned.
KV Ravi Shankar, Treasurer said that the persons who died before regularisation may be considered for providing Compassionate appointment to their eligible family members on par with regular employees and to allocate all the Social Welfare Schemes, such as Health Card, Gratuity etc.to be extended to the NMRs.
The Union leaders said that they would intensify their protest if the Government fails to accept their demands. YCP leader and former MLA Malladi Vishnu attended the meeting and extended solidarity to the protest.
