Vijayawada: CPM State secretary P Madhu said that the Left parties would observe one-day bandh on June 29 demanding that a steel plant should be set up in Kadapa district.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Tuesday, he asked all political parties and people at large to extend their support to the proposed bandh for protecting the interests of the State. He demanded that the Centre should implement all the assurances of AP Reorganisation Act. He said that the Vizag Railway Zone and Kadapa steel factory were rights of the people of the State.

He flayed the leaders of the BJP for making comments against the rights of the State. He said that the people would teach a fitting lesson to them and the CPM would fight for protecting the interests of the State.

He also said that the Left parties and Jana Sena would conduct a State-level seminar on the political situation in the State on Wednesday. He asked the peoples associations and leaders of various parties to attend and give their suggestions.
