Tirumala: As two Brahmotsavams are scheduled this year in Tirumala, JEO KS Srinivasa Raju reviewed on the arrangements to be made for the twin fete with all department heads. The four-hour long review meeting took place at Annamayya Bhavan on Tuesday. Tirumala JEO discussed in detail with all the HoDs about the works to be taken up in view of Brahmotsavams.

He instructed the engineering officials to complete all the works related to Brahmotsavams by August 31. Later, he briefed the media about the preparatory measures and other important changes that were reviewed in the meeting.

The JEO stated Salakatla Brahmotsavams in Tirumala would be held from September 13 to 21. He mentioned that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would present silk clothes to the temple of Lord Venkateswara on behalf of the government on September 13.

Similarly, Navaratri Brahmotsavams would be held from October 10 to 18. Important days include Garuda Seva on October 14, Swarna Ratham on October 17 and Chakrasnanam on October 18.

After consulting Agama advisors, temple priests and Tirumala Jiyar Swamis, the change of timings in Vahana Sevas would be implemented this year, the JEO added. Morning Vahana Sevas would be observed between 9 am and 11 am and evening Vahana Sevas between 8 pm and 10 pm and Garuda Seva from 7 pm onwards.

The JEO fixed a deadline to officials for completion of all works with respect to civil, electrical, security etc by August 31. He instructed the official concerned to give wide publicity on Brahmotsavams through SVBC, print and electronic media, pamphlets and posters.

“All privilege darshans would be cancelled during the festival days as in previous years. No break darshan even to protocol VIPs on Garuda Seva days during twin Brahmotsavams,” he stated. CE Chandrasekhar Reddy, FACAO Balaji, CVSO in-charge Siva Kumar Reddy, SEs Ramachandra Reddy, Ramesh Reddy and Venkateswarulu, temple Deputy EO Harindranath and others were also present.
