To mark International Yoga Day, people of all age groups participated in yoga camps with enthusiasm and performed Aasans on Thursday.

Vijayawada: To mark International Yoga Day, people of all age groups participated in yoga camps with enthusiasm and performed Aasans on Thursday.

Yoga Master of Sri Krishna Yoga Seva Kendram Y Ramesh Babu said that yoga originated from the Indian tradition which boosts mental and physical energy. Yoga come from the Vedas. About 200 people participated and performed around 10 Aasans on the occasion.

Educational institutions, students of schools, colleges and others participated in the celebrations and performed Aasans. Students of NSM Public School participated in the celebrations under the guidance of yoga teacher Ganta Shankar Rao.

The students, teachers, and the management of Veeramachineni Siddhartha Public School participated on the International Yoga Day under the guidance of yoga teacher Sharmila.

Students, faculty, management and staff of KBN College, PB Siddhartha Arts and Science College and Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala also took part in the yoga celebrations at their respective colleges in the city.

Vellore Institute of Technology and Vijaya Institute of Technology students and faculty performed yoga Aasans to mark the day.

Confederation of Indian Industry- Yi Amaravati Chapter and Indian Women Network (IWN) with the support of Vijayawada Municipal Corporation organised a yoga session on the occasion of International Yoga Day.
