He participated as the chief guest at the fourth International Yoga Day celebrated by the Department of Ayush and district administration at Polcie Parade Grounds on Thursday morning.

The yoga gurus, Y Bala Subrahmanyam, D Veeranjaneyulu, Y Koti Reddy and others from the Patanjali Yoga Peeth, Vivekananda Hathayoga and Ayush department instructed various asanas of yoga to the participating public representatives, district officers, students from dais.

Magunta said that yoga is one of the best contributions to the world by ancient India. He said that it helps the human body, thoughts, actions interrelate with the nature and develops the health and good thoughts.

He said that he is practicing yoga for the last 20 years and is participating in yoga day for the last four years. He claimed that yoga helped in maintaining his physical fitness and it is the best medicine for long term lifestyle diseases.

He revealed that it is yoga that is helping Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu to work for 18 hours a day.

Magunta inaugurated the book on yoga and diet advices, Chandrayogam, written by Madhavarao and appreciated him for bringing out in a simple language that can be understood by everyone.

Joint Collector S Nagalakshmi, SP BS Yesubabu, AJC D Markandeyulu, CPO Venkaiah, DRDA PD M Murali, SSA PO Venkateswarlu, STEP CEO Dr Ravi, DEO VS Suvbbarao, Ayush in-charge Ch Hariprasad, medical officer Sirisha, Ongole Municipal Commissioner Sankranti Venkata Krishna and others participated in the yoga day celebrations.
