Call to make city child labour-free
Sub-Collector CM Saikanth Varma has said that the government is very much particular to abolish child labour. As per child labour act, stern action will be taken against the respective persons or organisations who engages children in work, he warned.

Participating in an awareness meeting held on abolition of child labour at his office here on Thursday, he said Rajamahendravaram is known as child-friendly city and it is decided to make it as child labour-free city.
The teaching fraternity should identify the children who were out of school and initiate steps to admit them in the schools. Principals and headmasters in their purview should conduct a special drive in this regard.
He advised the people to call child helpline phone number 1098 if they found any children working in shops, hotels and business establishments.
ICDS project officer N Sitamaha Lakshmi and other officials were present.
