Eluru: West Godavari Superintendent of Police M Raviprakash urged the students to keep safe distance from cell phone and use cell phone only for education purposes.

He distributed scholarships and appreciation certificates to children of the police staff for achieving good results in SSC public examination and Intermediate exam at a programme held here on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, he hailed the merit students for showing competitive spirit to achieve good rankings.

He said that the new generation children from police families were much ahead of their older generation students.

Most of the children of the present day policemen were in higher positions and this occasion was worth celebration. He urged the students to be disciplined and imbibe competitive spirit.

He said if they keep cell phones away, they would surely excel in studies.

He advised the students to keep in mind the sacrifices of their parents and study with discipline to reach higher places.

Stating that there was no guarantee that money would be with us everytime, he reiterated that only education would give us recognition and identity in society.

He stressed the need to invest time in education as it bring social status and respect to us.
The SP interacted with the students on the occasion.

Officials of police department and staff and their children were present.
