Kurnool: Suspecting fidelity, a man killed his wife by slitting her throat at Vanumulapadu village in Pagidiyala mandal on Thursday morning. The deceased was identified as Ruthumma (28). As per the cop’s version, Mathaiah and Ruthumma were happily married for 10 years.

They had three children out of their married life. The couple were earning their livelihood as agriculture labourers. For the past some time, Mathaiah has been suspecting that Ruthumma was having an illegal affair with another man. He used to quarrel frequently with Ruthumma. Mathaiah picked up quarrel with Ruthumma in the early hours of Thursday. In a fit of a rage, he slit her throat with a knife.

Due to heavy infusion of blood, Ruthumma died on the spot. After the incident, Mathaiah fled from the scene. On receiving information, cops reached the spot and shifted the body to Nandikotkur government hospital for post-mortem. The body was handed over relatives of the deceased after the completion of the formalities. Mucchumarri police registered a case. With the death of Ruthumma, three children became orphans.
