Lokesh vows boost to sports
The state government has been committed to encourage sports and sportspersons in a big way and every constituency would get a mini stadium to achieve this goal, said the Minister for IT and Panchayat Raj Nara Lokesh.
Tirupati: The state government has been committed to encourage sports and sportspersons in a big way and every constituency would get a mini stadium to achieve this goal, said the Minister for IT and Panchayat Raj Nara Lokesh. He inaugurated the NT Rama Rao Sports Complex in Kuppam on Friday and said all the four mandals in the constituency would get one stadium each.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has always encouraged sports and it was during his tenure as Chief Minister of combined state, many stadiums including Gachibowli stadium in Hyderabad were constructed.
He took initiative then in conducting Afro-Asian Games and National Games in Hyderabad. Naidu also allotted land to Pullela Gopichand Academy and encouraged him a lot through which many medal winners like PV Sindhu, Saina Nehwal and other have emerged, heremarked.
