Amaravati: In view of the forthcoming general elections, TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu directed the party’s Anantapur district leadership to work hard and set aside the differences among them. The district has 14 Assembly segments and 2 Lok Sabha constituencies.

Chandrababu Naidu held a meeting with Anantapur district TDP leaders at Grievance Hall at Undavalli in Guntur on Friday. The state government did lot of development and took up welfare activities in the district, which was not witnessed during the past 40 years of his political experience, he said. This must be converted into vote bank, he directed them.

Anantapur had faced the danger of turning into a desert. But TDP government brought water to the district even during scorching summer, explained Chandrababu Naidu. He further added that establishment of Kia Motors in the district would change the lifestyle of the locals.

All roads made as concrete roads, hundred per cent street lights changed to LED bulbs, provided hundred per cent ODF to every house, increased per capita income, ensuring transparency in public distribution system and pensions increased from Rs 200 to Rs 1000 and many other welfare and development programmes are being implemented for the poor, he explained. He suggested the leaders that there must be increase in the vote share of TDP in the coming general elections when compared to the 2014 general elections.

The TDP chief instructed the party leaders that they must go to villages and explain all the development and welfare activities taken up by the government from last four years. At the same time, they were directed to maintain cordial relations with the party cadres at the ground level. He maintained that he will give priority to the cadre than leaders.

Lambasting on BJP, Chandrababu Naidu said that they pushed the agriculture in the country into troubles. But state government ensured that there was no burden on farmers.

YS Rajasekhar Reddy propagated more than 200 times per day by giving Rs 200 monthly pension, but TDP government is not claiming like that even after giving Rs 1000 per month, Chandrababu Naidu said.

As the opposition could not appreciate the achievements of the state government, they resorted to lodge false corruption allegations, Chandrababu Naidu said to the leaders, referring to YSRCP, BJP and Jana Sena parties.

Huge employment will be generated in Anantapur district, after completing the ongoing Kia Motors, Solar and Wind power plants and garment plants, he said. After completing the meeting, he interacted one-to-one with the leaders.

Leaders from the district including Ministers Paritala Sunita, Kaluva Srinivasulu, Chief Whip Palle Raghunath Reddy, Payyavula Kesav, Yamini Bala, district president Partha Sarathi, ZP Chairman Nagaraju, Mayor Swarupa Rani, general secretary Jayanageswar Reddy, in-charge Minister for the district Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, other ministers KS Jawahar, KE Prabhakar, MLCs Thippe Swamy, VVV Chowdary and others participated in the meeting.
