As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility activities, Simhadri Super Thermal Power Plant (SSTPP) of NTPC distributed furniture and physiotherapy equipment worth Rs 8.73 lakhs to all the 43 numbers of Inclusive Education Resource Centres located in Visakhapatnam district. 

Visakhapatnam: As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility activities, Simhadri Super Thermal Power Plant (SSTPP) of NTPC distributed furniture and physiotherapy equipment worth Rs 8.73 lakhs to all the 43 numbers of Inclusive Education Resource Centres located in Visakhapatnam district.

Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivas Rao presented the furniture to the officials on Saturday in the presence of the General Manager SSTPP Saroj Cheluri.

The SSTPP officials from HR and CSR wings and officials from Sarva Sikhsa Abhiyan were present.

The 43 numbers of Inclusive Education Resource Centres are part of Sarva Siksha Abhiyan which cater to children with special needs covering 21 types of disabilities and diseases in the age group of 6-14 years.

Majority of these children belong to below poverty line families who cannot afford special education by themselves.
