Hyderabad: In a warning to Andhra Pradesh, the Met department said on Monday that heavy rain was very likely to occur at isolated places in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari districts on June 26 and 27.

The forecast said light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely at a few/many/isolated places in the coastal and Rayalaseema districts from June 26 to 29. No large change during the period June 30-July 2 is the weather outlook. According to the department bulletin, the Southwest Monsoon was weak across Andhra Pradesh during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Monday.

It said rain occurred at isolated places in the two regions. The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) were: Therlam (Vizianagaram) 3, Chintapalle (Vishakhapatnam) and Punganur (Chittoor) 1 each. The highest day temperature of 39 degrees Celsius was recorded in Bapatla, Kavali, Machilipatnam and Ongole.

The other temperatures registered in the State were: Jangamaheswarapuram, Vijayawada & Nandyal 38 each, Kakinada, Nandigama, Nellore, Tuni, Visakhapatnam Airport & Kadapa 37 each, Narsapur, Anantapur , Kurnool & Tirupati 36 each, Kalingapatnam & Visakhapatnam 34 each and Arogyavaram 33.
