Tirumala: As a part of the three-day annual Jyeshtabhishekam at Tirumala temple, Snapana Tirumanjanam was performed to the processional deities on Sunday.

As per significance of the Pancha Beras of Lord Venkateswara, the processional deity of Lord Malayappa Swamy is considered as Utsava Beram. As this idol was found in deep forest of Seshachala ranges, it is also revered as Sri Malaya Kuniya Ninra Perumal as per the available inscription belonging to 1339 AD.

After a series of religious events in Yagashala by ritwiks, the deities were brought to Kalyanotsava Mandapam and seated on a special platform. Later amidst the chanting of Veda mantras including Pancha Suktas, Abhishekam was rendered to deities with milk, coconut water, honey, turmeric and sandal paste.

Vajra Kavacham Later, in the evening, Lord Sri Malayappa Swamy blessed the devotees in Vajra Kavacham on the first day of Jyeshtabhishekam. The TTD has cancelled Arjitha Vasanthotsavam in view of Jyeshtabhishekam on Sunday.

Tirumala Pedda Jiyangar Swamy, Tirumala Chinna Jiyar Swamy, chief priests Venugopala Deekshitulu, Govinda Raja Deekshitulu, TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal and Temple DyEO Harindranath were also present.
