He convened a review meeting on priority sector here. Speaking on the occasion, he directed the officials to keep the fertilisers available so that no complaint should come from farming community about it.

In August and September, another 75,000 metric tonnes of fertilizers would be available. The Collector ordered the officials to send 1,000 metric tonnes of zinc as per the outcome of the soil test conducted in the district.

The Collector stressed on nature farming and informed that 25,000 farmers would cultivate through nature farming. Another 25,000 farmers would join nature farming during next rabi season.

He directed the officials to accompany farmers to the farm fields where nature farming is in practice for awareness purpose. By next khariff, about one lakh farmers in the district should opt for nature farming, he hoped.

The Collector also reviewed cultivation of horticulture crops separately. He asked the horticulture department officials to encourage 100 new varieties of horticulture crops in the district.

Earlier, they used to cultivate only 10 kinds of crops. However, for three years the number of crop varieties had touched 36. The farmers should also encourage flower crops so that farmers would get benefitted, he added.
