No response from Centre on steel plant: Somireddy

Nellore: The Union government has not responded even though the health condition of TDP Rajya Sabha member C M Ramesh and MLC B Tech Ravi worsened due to ongoing indefinite fast for Kadapa steel plant, criticised agriculture minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy.
Interacting with the media here on Wednesday, Somireddy alleged that the Opposition leader had not even responded on achieving steel plant in his native district and it seems that he was afraid of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking up any agitations.
The minister said that the government made all arrangements to celebrate Eruvaka Pournami across the state on Thursday and added Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would participate in the programme in Srikakulam.
He said they were conducting the programme in Chittamur mandal in Nellore district and appealed to farmers to actively participate in the programme. The agriculture department would conduct special programmes for the welfare of farmers, he said.
