A pulse-controlled engine to avoid accidents when driver suffers high blood pressure or heart attack has been developed by students of SRKR Engineering College here.
Bhimavaram: A pulse-controlled engine to avoid accidents when driver suffers high blood pressure or heart attack has been developed by students of SRKR Engineering College here.
According to the college principal Dr G Parthasarathy Verma, the innovation of their students would help in reducing accidents occurring when driver lost control over wheel because of heart diseases.
The students of final year mechanical branch, Chaitanya Anirudh, K Tharun, Jyothi Vinay Kumar, Sairam along with third year student Sai Kiran developed this invention. The students under the guidance of Prof K Suresh Babu made the idea work good for vehicles.
Students under the supervision of the principal and Dr Brahmaraju, department head of mechanical engineering, explained about the invention.
According to the students, the driver of vehicle wears heartbeat sensor to his finger while the engine is fitted with micro controller. When the driver suffers low or high blood pressure, the engine automatically switches off.
As a result, the vehicle stops, thus avoiding accidents.
The students further explained that when they got the idea, they approached Prof Suresh Babu who helped in acquiring an old engine. Subsequently, they fitted the sensor and experimented.
When they gave shape to their idea, they observed that it worked successfully. The students thanked their mechanical department faculty and principal for encouraging them in doing such an invention.
