Amaravati: The APNGOs on Wednesday donated Rs 200 crore for construction of capital Amaravati. Thanking the Chief Minister for releasing Government Order sanctioning PRC arrears to a tune of Rs 3,920 crore for the benefit of almost four lakh employees and pensioners in the state, the NGOs donated their fifteen days arrears to the government.

Employees representing 50 associations came and met the Chief Minister and said that they have decided to donate the amount as their response for the cause of construction of capital city. No government gave like this in the past 10 PRCs, said APNGOs Association president Ashok Babu with media persons after interacting with the Chief Minister.

“The NGOs donated Rs 200 crore to Amaravati development. The amount is equivalent to 15 days arrears. Chief Minister directed officials to utilise the amount for construction of one building. Pensioners and regular employees are getting the arrears,” he explained.

The building will be named after the NGOs, he said. The Chief Minister directed Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana to name one building after NGOs. By November 18, the arrears will be cleared.
