Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, Raju said that the Navy’s curbs would restrict the development of Visakhapatnam as well as Andhra Pradesh’s economy.
The IT and Tourism sectors would be badly affected with the restrictions, he said. Raju demanded that the government allocate the VPT lands to the AAI to construct the second runway. “I will meet the Defence Minister to lift restrictions of the Navy on the civilian flights.
Navy says that three years are required for constructing the runway. But the runway could be constructed in one year,” Vishnukumar Raju said.
