Kadapa/New Delhi: The AP government has made it clear to the Centre that if the latter does not come forward to set up the steel plant in Kadapa, it would go ahead and do it on its own, even as the health condition of Telugu Desam Rajya Sabha member CM Ramesh, whose fast entered ninth day on Thursday, deteriorated further.

The state government is contemplating to wait till June 30 for a categorical announcement from the Centre on setting up of the steel plant which means that Ramesh would continue his fast till then. Though his condition is causing concern, Ramesh is refusing to be shifted to the hospital.

A delegation of the Telugu Desam MPs met Union Steel Minister in Delhi again on Thursday with a letter dated June 22 which had all the information on the queries that the Union Minister had raised when they called on him on Wednesday and persuaded him to announce the location of the steel plant in Kadapa district.
