Corporation Commissioner Sumit Kumar Gandhi inspected various drains in the city along with the officials here on Thursday and gave suggestions to them about silt clearing.
Rajamahendravaram: Corporation Commissioner Sumit Kumar Gandhi inspected various drains in the city along with the officials here on Thursday and gave suggestions to them about silt clearing.
He inspected the drains at railway station road, Y junction, hightech bus station, NRCP plant, Nalla channel etc.
Later, he said because of silt clearance, there was no stagnation of drains and asked the engineering department officials to speed up silt clearance works on a war-footing basis as monsoon season already started.
The drain and rain water would overflow on the roads, if the silt was not cleared, he added.
Additional Commissioner NVV Satyanarayana Rao, Deputy Commissioner T Rajgopal, Superintending Engineer Om Prakash, health officer Dr MVR Murthi and other officials accompanied the Commissioner.
