Vijayawada: The leaders of Left parties called upon the political parties to join hands with them for protecting the interests of the state. The leaders also asked the parties to fight against the Centre unitedly for making the Kadapa steel factory a reality.

They staged a protest at Lenin centre here on Friday, along with the leaders of Jana Sena, extending their support for setting up of Kadapa steel factory. Speaking on the occasion, they said that the Centre was cheating the people for the state for the past four years. They wondered as to why the Centre did not make any announcement towards Kadapa steel factory and railway zone for Andhra Pradesh.

CPM State Committee member Ch Babu Rao said that the Centre was making plans to give Kadapa steel factory for private companies. He also criticised the Telugu Desam for staging protests after four years.

CPI District Committee in-charge secretary Ch Koteswara Rao said that the Centre and State governments are cheating the people. He called up on people to get ready to fight against the government for their rights.

MLC Boddu Nageswara Rao said that the Kadapa steel factory is the right of the state. He urged the leaders not to confine the issue to Rayalaseema districts. CPM city coordinator D Kasinath, CPI city secretary Donepudi Sankar and several leaders were also present.
